Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, I am a landscape artist working primarily in oil on board. My creative practice is deeply rooted in my love for the outdoors—particularly the rugged beauty of the Lake District, the dramatic scenery of Scotland, and the rolling hills of the Peak District. These landscapes are more than just subjects to me; they are places I’ve explored on foot, often in solitude, drawing inspiration from the shifting light, changing weather, and quiet moments of connection with the natural world.
A keen hill walker, I often carry a sketchbook or camera on my treks, capturing initial impressions that later inform my studio work. My paintings aim to evoke the atmosphere and emotion of being immersed in these wild places—still, windswept, and timeless. I’m especially drawn to the interplay of light and texture in the landscape, something that oil paint allows me to explore with richness and depth.
My work is as much about memory and experience as it is about place. Each piece is a reflection of time spent outdoors, and an invitation for the viewer to step into that space and feeling.
