The Artists Story ...

Having lived in Kathmandu, Nepal for two years and visited on many occasions since, my painting frequently returns to the high Himalaya and Nepal.

I use my art to raise funds for the charity Community Action Nepal, founded by the late climber, Doug Scott. It provides healthcare, education and support village welfare for the people living in some of the remotest valleys in Nepal.

Some of the other subjects I paint are of the seascapes and landscapes of Britain. I now live and work in South Yorkshire where I have taught art to adults for 16 years and now teach classes in Penistone as well as weekly classes on Zoom.

I have exhibited at the Great North Art Show, Gallery Oldham, The Cooper Gallery in Barnsley, Saddleworth Museum and Art Gallery and the Heaton Cooper Studio in Grasmere where I had the honour of providing art work for the 50th Anniversary exhibition celebrating 'Everest the Hard Way', when Doug Scott and Dougal Haston became the first Britons to summit Everest.
